The first was the story of the Ulladulla fishermen who landed what is thought to be the second largest swordfish caught anywhere in the world and certainly the largest in Australia.
The second was confirmation Milton businessman Grant Schultz had mounted a preselection challenge to sitting Liberal MP Ann Sudmalis.
Closer to home, it was good to see Dean Howcroft begin his MS treatment in Panama, there with the help of the community which helped fund the trip.
Another community effort we found inspiring was the women’s concrete pour for the path between Bawley Point and Kioloa.
Speaking of concrete, a proposal to add a sundeck to Bannisters Pavilion at Mollymook has not gone down well with everyone. Some neighbouring residents say it will intrude on their privacy.
Catch you next week.
