“[We are urging people to] please remain vigilant about securing vehicles, not leaving property, especially large amounts of cash, in the vehicles and securing property in yards or houses,” he said.
“I feel we have more than one group active.”
Although theft had decreased, 11 incidents were reported overnight on Monday, June 4.
“Offences did quieten down until around 2am on June 4,” Mr Churchill said.
“South Ulladulla was hit, in and around Brill Crescent, South Pacific Crescent and Powell Avenue.
“Fortunately, not much was stolen and a local resident, who was awake, scared the offenders off. However, it was made easy for them again as all the vehicles were left unlocked. Again, I cannot stress more strongly, lock up your cars and property.”
Report theft to Ulladulla Police on 4454 8599. If you recognise the person in the CCTV footage above, contact police.
“[The CCTV footage] highlights why you should lock up. This offender moved on quickly when vehicles were locked,” Mr Churchill said.
Police will continue to work late into the night, with undercover patrols to be conducted.
