The event is set to run each term, with the first market due to be held on Thursday, June 28.
The market is an initiative created by the school’s Student Environmental Council (SEC), which hopes to encourage the community to buy local produce and make healthy choices.
“The SEC want to encourage our community to buy local produce to make healthy meals for themselves and their families,” student Takesa Frank said.
“The profits from the market will go back into SEC funds to support other initiatives at the school.”
Those wishing to hold a stall at the market need to complete an application form, which is available from the school’s front office, or by emailing uhsmarkets@outlook.com. The fee is $20, which will be collected from stallholders at the market.
The first event, which is free to enter, will be held in the school’s bottom car park, off St Vincent Street, from 3pm.
