A former Fishermans Paradise man was sentenced to an 18-month intensive corrections order after he was found guilty of resisting a police officer.

Jesse Riley appeared before Magistrate Gabriel Fleming for sentencing at Milton Local Court on Thursday, June 14.
The 28-year-old man had previously pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity to a destroy damage property charge and common assault after an incident on November 17, 2017.
Riley had pleaded not guilty to a charge of resist officer in execution of duty and his case went to a hearing in May, where Magistrate Fleming found the offence was proven.
During the sentencing, Magistrate Fleming said the offender had charged at a police officer after they had climbed through the window of the premises.
“You’re not letting them in house,” Magistrate Fleming said. “[You] tried to stop them getting in.”
Riley was also fined $500 for property damage and given a 12-month corrections order for an assault offence.
