Arriving to a beautiful sunny day with little wind, the Dockettes were switched on from the start. Playing her debut, Jaimie McLeod dominated early in the ruck using her height to her advantage to gain possession of the ball and getting the Lions out of the way.
It was a tight first quarter with stand out efforts from on-ballers Shannon ‘The Lion’ Lloyd, and captain for the day Tiarna Grzona nabbing plenty of possessions. Nic Neil was at every contest, and did well to clear the ball out of the centre. As usual, the Dockettes backline dominated in defence. Up front Regan Taylor and Em Hutchins were everywhere, gaining good possessions which fed Jess Andriske at full forward, but the Lions defence was strong. At the main break the score stood at 0 goals 4 points to the Lions, 0 goals 2 points to the Dockers.
The third quarter saw much of the same from Ulladulla. Honourable mention must go to Nic Higgins who got to every contest. The Lions got a goal and took the score to Lions 1 goal 7 points (13) to 0 goals 3 points (3) at the final break.
The final quarter saw the Dockers tire and the final score was 4 goals 8 points (32) to 0 goals 3 points (3). This was an absolutely incredible effort from an under (wo)-manned Dockers.
