Numbers were down a little due to school holidays and RATS who prefer winter hibernation, but those who attended enjoyed reasonable conditions as the winds had moderated from the previous day. Both the 10km series and 5.5km series were contested concurrently, with the ladies winning both events once again.
In the 5.5km series, Rose Robinson hauled in three front markers and powered to victory in a season's best time of 33:53. Second across the line was Adrian Le who recorded 30:03, which was also a season's best effort and the fastest time of the morning. Dad Kevin was not far back, coming in third with a solid 30:12. It was good to see Don, Russell and Steve back with us after some international excursions.
In the 10km series, Nicola Rabbett ran her usual honest race finishing with the fastest time of the morning (52:34) and maximum points. Nicola has closed the gap to series leader Craig Hancock in what could be an exciting tussle for the remainder of the series. Second was Ian Robinson recording 60:55 and take note, is on the way back. Third was Craig Hancock scoring useful points with his 54:08.
Nicola was the lucky RAT, winning the socks from John's treasure trove. Most of the crew gathered at Tallwood afterwards for a well earned coffee and chat.
