The Cancer Outpatients Appeal Men’s Health and Cancer Support Group was formed in an effort for men and their families to have a place to share their experiences. A meeting to gauge interest in the group was held on Thursday, July 12.
Convener Peter Still said he was “very pleased” with the inaugural meeting’s outcome.
“It was very positive. I am very pleased with the response we have got, it is absolutely excellent,” he said.
“We are proposing a meeting on August 15, which will be the first official meeting of the men’s health group.”
Mr Still encouraged people to attend.
“The whole idea is for people to get together and share their experiences to know they are not alone, and that others are going through it, or are going to go through the same process,” he said.
The August 14 meeting will be held in the Milton Ulladulla Bowling Club’s upstairs conference room from 6pm. Tea and light refreshments will be provided.
Moving forward, the group will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Ulladulla location. For more information, phone Peter on 0448 545 652.
