Remember the fuss over the proposed Parson Street development? The proponent wanted to exceed height restrictions, triggering considerable outcry among local residents. The plan was modified, the height dropped and the DA approved. Now the proponent is seeking a variation to the DA, to change the floor heights, among other things.
Restrictions of another nature were also in the news this week. The NSW Government’s plan to limit the number of days short-term rentals can be let is over the top, especially in the southern Shoalhaven, according to a Mollymook home owner.
A once familiar sight in Ulladulla, the MV Banks Ulladulla, came to a sad end in the Whitsundays. After being run aground last year during Cyclone Debbie, the decision has been taken to tow the vessel to Townsville and cut it up.
We live in an amazing part of the world but do we really know that much about it? A new initiative aims to unearth local wonders – be they places or people – and share them with the wider community. There’s a pretty good incentive to get involved, with great prizes on offer.
