Brothers Tom and Will Hatcher-Nee, Emily Upsall and Tiahna Pinches make up the Milton School tennis team who are the South Coast’s best and proved that they are in the top 4 in NSW when they played the Riverina’s best team at Ulladulla on Friday, August 3, in Ulladulla.
Winning the state quarter-finals they now travel to Sydney to face the other 3 teams and fight to bring the PSSA Victor J Kelly Trophy back to Milton. Fresh after a great training session the previous night, the Milton team were pumped and well prepared for their decisive victory, winning 7 sets (43 games) to 1 set (14 games).
Team manager, Milton Assistant Principal Melissa Blondinau said “It was wonderful to see both the Milton and the Lake Albert children display outstanding sportsmanship and encouragement towards each other.”
“Country kids are amazing and a huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents, Kev and the Milton Ulladulla District Tennis Association for supporting our team,” she said.
Milton now goes on to play the State Semi-Finals and the Finals at Homebush on Monday, August 27. Good luck Milton!
