Many of the Rats are in the thick of winter training for longer events ranging from 10kers up to 50kers. Sunday’s run at Lemon Tree Creek was an opportunity for all runners to take on the distance that was needed. This ranged from one-hour run/walks to three-hour runs. Lemon Tree Creek is a quiet offroad track giving all runners the choices of either an out and back run or a big loop. There are some challenging hills which increase the intensity too.

We all acknowledge that running with a group keeps us honest, you get out of bed because you’ve made the commitment, and because you’re with a group, you challenge your limits. As one of our more experienced runners would say “it’s money in the bank!”.
If you’d like to start running with the Rats we recommend a Tuesday morning at Narrawallee Reserve Car Park. We do short intervals and you can go at any pace that suits you, each week you can build up your distance too. It’s a good way to get to know some new people and make a good investment in your wellbeing.
Don’t forget to check out the new website ulladullarats.com.
Next Sunday’s run is a handicap, meeting at 7am at the Mollymook Beach Reserve, look for the RATs flag. Check out our Facebook page or emails for handicap times.
