Mr Cochrane took to the air last weekend and said despite the drought conditions in the NSW, including the South Coast, the coastline from Kiama to Nowra still looked spectacular.
Mr Cochrane, himself a former dairy farmer, said the area was certainly dry.
“It’s also only mid winter,” he said.
“A couple of inches of rain would kick some spring growth off.
“In the ’90s we had many very dry years but it would only go about six weeks at most before some good rain.
“We have not had any significant rain now since March last year - 18 months.
“I’ve got a creek on my block that I’ve never seen dry before, and perhaps never been bone dry like it is now.”
