Five little helpers planted 20 shrubs to grow 1.5 to 5 metres next to the pathway section which was poured by a group of teenagers during the school holidays.
Macy, 4, Matilda, 2, Milo, 3, Sarge, 3 and Thea, 2, carefully watered and mulched the plants before guards were installed by Kioloa Bush Care.
The native plants will not only provide a good habitat for small birds and animals but also add a splash of colour, with Callistemon and Banksia just two of the species planted.
More plants will be put in when the 'post pour earthworks' have been completed and more pathway has been laid.
The Community Connect pathway project aims to construct a pathway from Bawley Point to Kioloa to connect the two small communities.
The next pour will take place from 7.30am on Saturday, August 11.
