Libby Limbrick has recently commenced as TAFE Services Coordinator at TAFE NSW Ulladulla, a position with a simple but powerful job description – community first.
“I started working with TAFE NSW Nowra in 1992, however for the past four years I have been based in Ulladulla,” Mrs Limbrick said.
“Now that I’m working here full time, I’m enjoying the opportunity to get out and meet people in our community.
“This region is beautiful and I love the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.”
In her new role she has been involved in helping build strong connections with Ulladulla High School.
“I believe together we will be able to create training and career opportunities for the region’s youths,” she said.
“We’ve recently completed three career-taster programs with high school students in collaboration with the Dunn Lewis Centre.
“Everyone benefits from a strong, vibrant town and TAFE NSW is proud of the role it plays in helping communities grow and meet future challenges.
“I’m really looking forward to working closely with the community and making sure we deliver the training and educational opportunities it wants and deserves.
“I’m so excited to be the public face of TAFE NSW locally and I urge everyone to come and see what TAFE NSW has to offer – you might be surprised.”
TAFE Services Coordinators play a critical role in the daily operations of a campus and have a strong focus on community engagement.
It’s not too late to enrol in a Responsible Service of Alcohol or a Responsible Conduct Gambling course during Semester 2.
Popular courses currently running are Certificate II in Business, Certificate III and IV Business Administration, Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community Care), Certificate III in Nail Technology, Certificate II in Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management. These courses and more will be offered again next year.
TAFE NSW Regional General Manager Kerry Penton said the new roles would bring TAFE NSW even closer to the communities it serves.
“We have a long and proud affiliation with our towns and the new TAFE Services Coordinators will ensure we continue to be responsive to community and industry needs,” Ms Penton said.
“It’s a very exciting time at TAFE NSW and I encourage local residents to make the most of the exciting training opportunities available to them.”
