The property at 3 Kingston Town Drive, Kembla Grange has a price guide of $1.95 million.
The family owns two properties side-by-side in this location, and are selling one. Sitting on a 3852sqm lot and adjacent to Illawarra Turf Club, the property that’s for sale consists of a horse stable complex with a country-style residence.
The main stable features 14 boxes. Other features include an equine swimming pool and walking machine.
The residence features three bedrooms, while there is also a two-bedroom flat.
One of the selling agents, LJ Hooker Wollongong principal Chris Stylis said the property would be an ideal investment opportunity for an experienced thoroughbred trainer or those involved in equestrian horses.
Murray died in 2016, aged 80 after a battle with cancer.
He trained for more than 50 years in the racing industry, and is widely remembered as a true gentleman of the sport.
His widow Edie said while the couple didn’t reside there, the complex served as a useful halfway point between their Conjola base and Sydney’s race tracks.
“He liked it, it worked out well for him,” she said.
“(We’re selling because) we won’t ever have as many horses now as when Bede was with us.
“It’s just sitting there, we don’t need all that space.”
