The entire community was here in spirit, paying tribute to a man who lost his life protecting ours in last week’s fire emergency.
If anything brings a community together, it is common purpose. Last week saw that in action as volunteers and emergency services personnel fought the fires and businesses across the district helped out by keeping the firefighters fed and watered.
Perhaps the most touching display was the delivery of food gathered and prepared by the students of Milton Public School. A truly magnificent effort.
Another effort that caught our eye was the fundraising initiative of Cate Morrison, who will shave her head to raise money for research into the rare genetic condition suffered by her fellow student Holly Burns.
In good news, the NSW Government announced it was buying the Shoalhaven Anglican School for a much needed new school in the district. This was largely thanks to your efforts as a community to push for it.
Catch you next week.
