McCabe has played a key role in helping the Dockers finished second on the ladder on the home and away season.
The other three best and fairest award winners were Wollongong Lions Lachlan Maples (division one men’s – Tunbridge Medal), Bomaderry’s Jack Boxesell (division two men’s – Tom Smith Medal) and Bomaderry’s Sophie Phillips (women – Maddy Collier Medal).
Players weren’t the people acknowledged, with Nowra/Albatross’ Chrissy Lakey named AFLSC volunteer of the year, Bomaderry’s Craig ‘Jack’ Daniel named as a 2018 AFLSC life member and Ray Tunbridge (posthumous) being the 2018 AFLSC hall of fame inductee. Joel Spain (Brian Archer development award) and Callum Faulkner (golden whistle) took out the two umpire awards.
