The exhibition is expected to attract visitors from as far away as Sydney, Canberra and Bega.
Entry applications have just closed for this year’s sculpture exhibition. Over 60 entries from more than 28 artists had been entered, said curators and organisers Peter Hoy and Anna Rosen.
This level of support, from both the arts community and sponsors of the event, builds on the success of previous sculpture exhibitions held at Petana Gardens, Morton.
The prize pool of $6000 has more than doubled for this year’s exhibition thanks to the support of local businesses.
As part of Escape ARTfest, Sculpture at Petana will be held at Petana Gardens over nine days from Saturday, October 6 to Sunday, October 14, with gates open from 10am to 4pm daily.
The event will launch with the BYO Picnic in the Garden. A pop-up cafe will serve light refreshments.
Many of the sculptures on exhibition will be for sale.
Admission to the event, including the exhibition catalogue, adults $10, children free.
Sculpture at Petana is being held at Petana Gardens, 408b Woodburn Road, Morton.
