With 600 tickets available to the fundraiser, it is hoped $50,000 will be raised for local farmers, as well as those further west, facing drought conditions.
The Rock Out for the Drought event is a collaboration between all five clubs in the Milton-Ulladulla district in an effort to help farmers in need.
All bar sales from the night will be given to the cause, as well as ticket booking fees and money raised at an auction.
The Swaggers, who don’t need much of an introduction on the South Coast, will play with a seven-piece band on the night and are bound to have the Ulladulla Civic Centre rocking. They will be joined by Mojo Electric and Tim Thompson.
“We are super excited; all being local guys and knowing what the farmers going through locally and nationally, we can’t wait to get behind this cause,” The Swaggers member Eric Duxbury said.
“Our fans have all said they want to come to this event. We want everyone to put their hands in their pockets and dig deep.
“We are hoping to put on a great night for everyone.”
The band will be rehearsing twice a week in the lead up to the event to ensure the band is “firing from all angles”.
“There is nothing like playing on home turf, we can’t wait,” Mr Duxbury said.
Ulladulla ExServos Marketing Manager Rob Lutton said people were encouraged people to dress up as farmers for the night.
He said they wanted to “raise funds, and the roof”.
“Put on your farmer gear and have a good night,” Mr Lutton said.
“We want to raise funds, and also raise the roof on this place [Ulladulla Civic Centre]. This is a full production, it is going to be a big night.”
Food fit for a farmer will be available from food trucks on the night, with the front lawn of the Civic Centre to be open for the event.
“The band will be inside, but we will also have the lawn set up so people can enjoy the harbour views,” Mr Lutton said.
Andrea Tucker will MC the event, and auction the items, and encouraged everyone to get behind the cause.
Tickets to the 18+ event, to be held at the Ullladulla Civic Centre on Saturday, October 19, are $60 and can be purchased from https://www.stickytickets.com.au/74832/rock_out_for_the_drought.aspx.
Anyone with items to donate for the event, can call the Milton Ulladulla ExServos on 4455 1444.
