Club President Mandy Merrett said a great day was had by all at the event, which was saw about 70 riders compete in the sporting championships and showjumping events.
“A combination of 10 horse sporting events consisting of the Barrel Race, Bending Race, Flag Race and many other favourites were run throughout the day with every rider completing each race in the running for the point score championships,” Ms Merrett said.
Club Secretary Bec McLaren was pleased with how everyone “cheered and supported each other” during the day.
The showjumping was hotly contested, with jumps Coordinator Mal McDonald stating 80 rounds covering heights from x-rails to 1 metre were successfully completed.
“Every age group was respresented in both categories, from tiny tots on the lead right through to open over 18yrs age group and our ever faithful late bloomers group, which caters for adults just starting out or getting back into the saddle after a long break,” Ms McDonald said.
“Competitors travelled from as far as Wonoona in the north and Moruya in the south, with the large majority being our regular and ever increasing local competitors.
“It is also lovely to see our local national level competitors in their own fields of Showjumping, Polocrosse, Showing, Dressage and Pony Club, relaxing and enjoying a family oriented day.”
The afternoon events concluded with team sporting races.
The Ulladulla District Riders Club has been successfully running for over 30 years, and has about 200 registered riding members of all ages and abilities.
