NSW DPI Fisheries Officers have apprehended two men on a rock platform near Kitten Bay at Kioloa, in possession of eight prohibited size abalone.

The men admitted to taking the abalone, shucking them and eating the meat whilst on the rock platform.
Both men were issued fines totaling $1900 for shucking/possessing shucked abalone, possessing undersize fish, possessing more than the possession limit and not paying the recreational fishing fee.
Fishers are reminded that Blacklip Abalone has a minimum size limit of 11.7cm with a bag limit of two per person per day and abalone are not to be shucked in, on or adjacent to waters unless approved by the Department.
