It is understood the rescission motion was lost 11 votes to two.

Cr Kaye Gartner, who lodged the rescission motion, and voted in favour of keeping the committee together along with Cr John Levett, was critical of debate tactics used by her peers at council chambers in Nowra.
“The energy policy focused on low-cost renewables to reduce costs to council’s $6 million energy bill,” Cr Gartner said.
“Councillors misled the community by declaring that this would affect Manildra industries.
“This deliberately misleading statement is what we expect from shock jocks, not councillors elected to make important decisions.
“When councillors misrepresent a single line of a policy proposal in this way, they attempt to instil fear. They stymie valuable discussion that could save council money.
“It is small wonder that our community has lost faith in its political leaders.”
