Stephanie Alexander, author of the alphabetical guide to cooking The Cook’s Companion, was interviewed over the fully-booked long table lunch at Rick Stein at Bannisters.
The admired author visited the Milton-Ulladulla region for her book tour promoting her new alphabetical cook book – The Cook’s Apprentice. Ms Alexander said her new cook book would suit the rawest of home cooks.
“I’m keen to get as many people as possible enjoying good food and I’m aware that there’s an awful lot of people, who for lots of reasons have never learnt to cook or are scared of cooking,” she said.
“I want to sort of make sure I’ve written something that will solve all their problems and be inspiring and full of information.
“If people are, sort of, paralysed by not knowing how to roll pastry ..., I explain it clearly and hopefully they come away with a better understanding.”
