Numbers were light on on Sunday, due to injuries, races and other commitments – like sleeping in, (those who shall not be named..) however well deserved, after the epic walk on Saturday.

Three walkers and five runners made their morning worthwhile, completing the 15km to Granite Falls and return. Unfortunately there was no water to be seen falling, even after all the rain we’ve had. It is a beautiful lookout and certainly worth the journey. We missed you, Naomi Eastment, and hope you might join us next week instead.
Speaking of beautiful lookouts, a few friends of Rats planned a trip to Byangee Walls on Saturday, inviting the man of many tales, Bob White, to guide. In doing so he dragged a few extras along, making a small group of 12 to tackle the very spectacular walk. It was tough going straight uphill, but the views are certainly worth it. Without Bob’s help, we may have missed the special cave as well as the sheer rock faces just off the track before the last climb. It was a great day out, spoilt only by the rather heavy downpour of rain and hail as we hit the final descent. Drenched, but exhilarated, we thank Bob for once again lending us his local knowledge and time.
While some were walking, Nicole Rattenbury was cycling her way around 180 km of Nowra landmarks at a speedy rate to achieve fifth woman overall and first in her age group at the Long Course Weekend, Jervis Bay.
Then on Sunday, Tilly Fischer completed the 42.2km marathon in an outstanding time of 3:41:37, to achieve second overall and first in her age group, also at the Long Course Weekend, Jervis Bay.
Congratulations to both of you!
Next Sunday October 28, please meet at the bus stop (just before the dirt road starts) at the end of Croobyar Rd, Milton, for another run with views J
