After an overcast start, the weather turned it on and the sun blazed, much to the delight of a few cold Water Safety parents.
Nippers is a great activity for growing a child's confidence, knowledge and skills in the beach environment.
Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends, they will become part of Mollymook Surf Club, which has served the local community for over 83 years.
It’s not too late to join in the fun! Individuals can join Nippers for as little as $30 for the season, which gives them access to all of the required equipment including paddle boards and the club’s facilities, and there is also family membership available.
Details can be found under the “Nipper” tab of the Mollymook Surf Club website.
Also, for the first time ever Mollymook has a large group of Nippers from Canberra that have joined the club.
The group will be conducting their own Sunday morning board’s sessions on Lake Burley Griffin and honing their sand skills on the grassy shores.
They will then head for the coast to get the sand between their toes and feel the motion in the ocean, which should be all together fun and probably a little bit chaotic.
The freshwater Nippers will be coming down on at least four occasions over the course of the season, so we all have to make sure they get a big welcome from their saltwater cousins.
