Milton-Ulladulla charities will benefit from your generosity this Christmas.
Business owners of Rowen’s Arcade have decided their annual Christmas promotion should give back to local services and individuals in need over the festive season.
The promotion ‘Tis the Season To Be Giving’ includes a modern take on the annual Christmas photo that usually adorns a relative’s wall or mantelpiece.
The new option lets the public get a selfie with Santa and have your face painted, all for a gold coin donation for local charities.
Selfies with Santa can be taken on Saturday, December 8, 15 and 22 from 9am to 1pm.
Boys, girls and families in need will also be supported by the Christmas campaign. The Giving Tree stands in One Agency Real Estate and the public is invited to place a gift under the white tree.
If the real estate office is closed, any business will accept a gift and place it under the tree. Name tags are provided.
Gift-givers will be asked to nominate whether the present if for a boy, girl or family and specifiy the age, or ages, the present is suitable for.
Milton Ulladulla Family Support Service will hand the gifts to those in need of at the end of the Christmas drive, business owner Patrick Mallon said.
Mr Mallon said every business in the arcade was behind the Christmas drive.
Previous promotions had supported shoppers, but owners wanted to do something different to help out local charities.
“It’s all about the kids and charities,” real estate agency owner Chris Coffey said.
“We realise there’s a number of families in need in this community.”
Volunteers of the Milton Ulladulla Hospital Auxiliary will be holding a gift wrapping pop-up shop and raffle from Monday, December 10 until December 22 from 9.30am to 3pm.
Hospital auxiliary publicity officer Sue Katsoulis said the annual fundraiser was well supported by the group’s volunteers.
The auxiliary will also host a pop-up store with many gift ideas, stocking fillers and the Christmas hamper raffle.
