Headlining Forrester’s exciting squad for the under 23s championships are nine Group Seven products, including Shellharbour quintet Jayme McElhone, Nicholas Greenhalgh, Wayde Aitken, Max Wolfson and Kade Sampson, Kiama duo Cameron Cornell and Cameron Vazzoler, Jamberoo’s Luke Asquith and Milton-Ulladulla’s Tyler Clark.
Rounding out the squad are Collegians’ Cameron Scott, Donte Efaraimo, Luke Chalker and Liam Cassidy, Western Suburbs’ Michael Applebe and Thirroul’s Cooper Purcell – who all play in the Illawarra Division Rugby League competition.
The CRL Country Championships will kick-off in March, rather than May like they have done in previous years.
The Dragons, who are in the southern pool with Greater Southern Region Wests Tigers, Western Rams, Monaro Colts and Riverina Bulls, will open their campaign against the Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium on March 9.
The following week, the Dragons will host Riverina at the Collegians Sports Stadium, before the semi-finals on March 30 and final on April 6 – which will be held in Mudgee.
The squad will start training at Centenary Field on Monday, February 4 from 6.30pm, ahead of their assault on the championships.
