Entries for all sections of the 2019 Eisteddfod competition will close on Friday, March 1.
The Eisteddfod provides a great opportunity for schools to showcase their achievements in Vocal and instrumental Music, Dance and Speech and Drama.
In addition to the fantastic experience of performing on stage, all Shoalhaven school entrants are considered for two special awards: The Helen Ring Award from Shoalhaven City Council Arts Board and the $1000 Schools Encouragement Award.
Schools’ Choral (Thursday, May 23) and Schools’ Verse Speaking (Tuesday, June 4) Sections, which are two of many highlights of the Eisteddfod, will be held at the Nowra City Church, McMahons Road, North Nowra.
The Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre is the venue for the Schools’ Dance Section (May 17) and the Dance Troupes (Sunday, May 19). All other sessions will be held at the Nowra School of Arts, Berry Street, Nowra.
All schools have been sent an electronic copy of the Syllabus and school communities are encouraged to participate in the many school sections listed in the Eisteddfod Syllabus.
Eisteddfod performance experience is also invaluable for individuals and community groups, to try out new material and receive constructive comment on their performance.
The syllabus can be accessed here.
Individual, schools and community group entrants who would like a hard copy of the syllabus can collect a copy from the Nowra City Library, music shops in Berry and Nowra.
For further Eisteddfod information phone Mrs Frazier for school enquiries (4423 2802) or secretary, Mrs Susanne O’Neill (4423 6058).
