Steeped in a rich and varied history, the annual Milton Show this Friday and Saturday will have something for everyone. The 150th Annual Show on March 1-2, 2019 will be held at the picturesque Milton Showground on Croobyar Road, Milton.
The theme for the show centres around the 150 year anniversary, and will showcase the history and growth of the town. Visitors will be amazed at the diversity of the displays and activities which have created the spirit of Milton people enjoy today, as well as the level of excellence of exhibits and events.
In many events and activities at the show, there have been three and four generations of the same family involved and often competing against each other. Grandma has to hide her cookbook of decades culinary secrets from daughters and grandchildren. Many entrants compete nationally and internationally.
Dairy, beef and timber have been the backbone of Milton and districts’ development since early settlement. Advances in technology have seen many changes across the board. While there used to be 70 dairy farms in the region, now only four remain but are able to produce more milk.
