Congratulations and thank you to all the inter-club competitors (Pennants) managers and umpires who represented us on the weekend. As usual our greens were good on the weekend and the sun was shining as a bonus. We now have a mix of new bowlers joined by some of our more experienced bowlers in our grade 3 team this year. Whilst playing in the grade 3 against some quality players and larger clubs is a really big task, on Sunday they played fantastic and won 2 out of 3 rinks! Some of the outstanding performers were our lead players Bill Cheyne and Bill Ridley. Glen Radcliffe and Ian Spiers were also very strong on Sunday.
Our Pennant 2 grade Team has had 1 win and 1 loss. This team won through to the state titles last year after performing really well and we would love to see that again. The players in this grade usually play well every week and often draw large numbers of spectators.
We would like to welcome new members and hopefully more playing members to Conjola. We can provide equipment and teach you the basics with our easy going coaches.
Mollymook Men
PENNANTS: The news is not very favourable for the Mollymookian sides this week. The 3's at home battled hard against Culburra but managed only one point; the 4's away got closer to an overall win against Sussex Inlet & came home with 1 1/2 points whilst the 6's away at St. Georges Basin went down 9/1. Early days!
CHAMPIONSHIPS: The final of the Mixed Fours (skips Dave Henry & Dave Clark) was unfortunately postponed last Sunday afternoon, but the rain was otherwise very welcome. The semi-final of the Super Singles played Tuesday evening saw two interesting results. Eric Woodburn & Dave Bradshaw both starting on 7 saw Dave hold the lead for the first 8 ends before Eric snagged a 4 to take the lead, 17/14. Being a canny Scot there was no way Eric would loosen his grip on that lead, making it very hard for Dave to break through although he tried hard; final score 31/26. The other match, that between Terry Hill (6) & Geoff Watson (9) also ended up somewhat surprisingly. The first 14 ends saw Terrance stuck on 9,10 &11 "forever" whilst Krusty took his lead to 23/11. A four to Terry on the 17th gave his score a nice jolt but Krusty replied with a 3 on the next to lead 26/18. Krusty was thereafter undisturbed & finished the game in the next four ends, final score 31/20. The final will have been played Tuesday 19th 5pm, weather permitting & reported next Times issue.
SOCIAL: Forty-six bowlers enjoyed the afternoon, mostly playing two bowl triples. Gary McGuire with Krusty Watson & your scribe were outstanding with a win over Paul Barnes, Peter Crowe & Geoff Travis after being 22 all on the 24th end. Final score 24/22 & the lucky rink win. Fridays Open Pairs: the Frasers won the $120 prize with a score of 10 on the five random ends & shared with Harro & the Menace who also won Mark's Shout. The jackpot at $320 was not won however Messrs Nelson & Hill claimed the KENO voucher.
Milton-Ulladulla Men
Round four of the pennant season got underway on Saturday under very threatening skies with a few of our sides needing a good result and, lo and behold, a few wins we got. The 2's travelled to Huskisson and had a very good 9 points to 1 win which they desperately needed; the fives played at home and had a similar result against Husky; the sixes were also at home but unfortunately went down 1-9 against Ex-Servos with the four of Harvey Wootton/ Kingy/ Dennis Ogilvie and Rob Cattley unable to win by enough to carry the big board; and finally the mighty 7's had a great win at home also against Husky 9 points to 1 with two very good rink wins from Nelson Wallace's four and the motley crew of Dick McLean. So next weekend we have to keep the ball rolling and carry on carrying on, which we seem to be very good at. District singles entry forms are on the board, both Open & Senior as well as President's Reserves, so please have a good think about putting your name down, it is very good experience for those who want to improve their game. The club major singles is still on the board and there is still plenty of room for new names. The final of the club fours has been put down for Sunday 24th March at 10am., which should be a cracker of a game, so if you can come down and have a look do so, you won't be disappointed. Results for the week:- Wed. social:- winners:- Dave Roberts/ Paul the Python/ Dave Chandler; runners up:- Charlie Fucile/ / Joe Lapinski/ Eric Bell. Fri. social:- overall winners:- Charlie Fucile/ Kiffy 2 wins + 16; runners up:- Jeannie Thompson/ Ros Jamieson 2 wins + 13; 1st game winners:- Don Edwards/ Nelson Wallace +12; 2nd game winners:- Ian Connelly/ Simon Read +8.

The winning rink of Craig Lees and Gordon Lang took home the fresh chickens while the lucky losers, Doug Broad, Mike Lynn got half their green fees back.
