Remote controlled fans have suddenly stopped working and people are having issues locking their cars.
Motel manager Kimberley Peat is trying to work out just what is going on.
It all started with one fan last Friday morning.
"So we were like we have a broken fan and we will fix it," Kimberley said
However, an electrician was called in but the fan still did not work.
"We thought it was weird and then the cleaners came down and said the fan in room 10 is not working and then the fan in room nine stopped working and we went hang-on a minute something is not right," she said.
"So 12 hours of investigation got us nowhere, until someone said their car key device was not working.
"So I tested my car key on Tuesday afternoon and it did not work and I thought 'okay this is interesting'."
Kimberley said this had never happened before and she is still trying to solve this radio interference mystery.
"So I have got my trusty little AM radio out trying to work out where the interference is coming from and there is just nothing," she said.
"It's some sort of radio frequency interference that is coming from somewhere but it could be anywhere."
She put a message out on Facebook asking if anyone else had experienced this strange frequency occurrence?
"We have had people park across at the golf club whose car keys would not work. There was one woman, in particular, and she has a key-less car and she could not start the car because the car would not recognise her control device," Kimberly said
The motorist was stuck in the car park.
Kimberley intends to keep on making her investigations.
She heard someone had a similar issue at another local car park and the problem was traced back to a power pole.
However, all the Mollymook's Beachhouse's power is underground.
'It's an absolute mystery and I need to work out what is going on as it's Easter next week, we are coming into school holidays and I have rooms you can't turn the lights and the fans on and off with the remote," she said.
Strangely the TV remotes work.
She has contacted the Australian Media and Communications Authority for help.
Kimberley has to figure out where the fault is as while authority does investigate these issues this local matter not be high on its list of priorities.
"So what am I going to do? I don't know," Kimberley said.
