Under 9's: A rainy start to Sunday morning didn't deter the Ulladulla Dockers Under 9's from coming out firing against the Bay and Basin Bombers. The whole team showed how keen they are on their footy this week and finding a standout player was not an easy task. Great sportsmanship was showed by both teams, and although scores are not taken too seriously in the Under 9's the Dockers scored their first win for the season. Go Dockers and thanks to the bombers for hosting a great of footy.
Under 11's: Another strong performance by the under 11s. The tackling pressure was outstanding. We put together some impressive passages of play. Archie had things under control across the backline; Tom, Tim and Finn L tackled their hearts out; Ryan and Harry dominated their positions; and Jye and Finn B were our most dangerous forwards. Our strong marking and kicking to position continued to impress all those watching. We are looking great as a team, with every player contributing well.
Under 13's: Last Sunday the U13s Dockers had their first away game and travelled to the home ground of the mighty Bay and Basin Bombers. The Bombers proved to be a much stronger team in comparison to last year and began the game with 4 quick goals. Despite the Dockers winning the last 3 quarters, (6 goals to 2!), we got pipped at the post losing by just 2 points. Just couldn't quite recover from the 1st quarter. The players all put in an extraordinary effort though with plenty of hard tackling and pressure around the ball. We're starting to see massive improvements in our field play, which is great to see. Don't be disheartened by the loss. You will be better players because of it.
Again so many played, but special mentions this week go to Connor and Harry (2 goals) for their great field play and endurance, Cameron and Indy for their strong ruck work, Benny for his reliability and solidness in defence, The two Jacks for hard work around the ball, Jye for his uncanny ability in scrambling for the ball and then kicking goals from range (4 goals) and finally Tom with his unbelievable commitment to take on kids twice his size and put them on the deck. Tremendous courage and skill Tom. You can play in the U13s any time.
Well done guys! Enjoy your holiday break. You've all earned it.
