The Ulladulla RATS enjoyed very social runs last week, with larger than usual turnouts perhaps thanks to extra time afforded to many members by the Easter and school holidays.

While some members headed off to holiday elsewhere, many came along for the mid-week runs including Tuesday, Wednesday and a particularly large group on Friday. Most runners on Friday ran the full 10km course from South Mollymook to Narrawallee inlet and back, with the three marathoners taking the opportunity for a recovery run and to swap stories from last Sunday's inspiring efforts in Canberra. Friday provided perfect conditions for running, and the energised RATS headed to Duke and Co. afterwards for a special coffee to celebrate Lauri's birthday.
On Sunday, RATS ventured out to an old favourite, starting at Burrill Lake Lions Park, and ran a variety of distances up to approximately 1km. At the conclusion of the run, seasoned Rat Martin thought it had been a fairly uneventful run, but upon reflection, there were two rolled ankles by one young RAT, one bloody nose, and five RATS who took more than one wrong turn. At the conclusion of the run, when the wayward RATS were finally reunited, in keeping with tradition, coffees were savoured, this time at The Sunday Life pop-up in the Plaza.
The traditional RATS Anzac Day run will be held on Thursday, April 25, leaving from the park at Narrawallee Inlet and heading south to the Lions Club at Burrill Lake. Meet at Narrawallee Inlet at 5.45am.
Next Sunday's Run - April 28, 2019: Please meet at the bus shelter on the left, just past the end of Croobyar Road, Milton, for a special run called Hidden Valley, proposed by Steve and promised to reward some challenging hills with beautiful environs. Varied distances from 10km approx.
