The work at Falls Creek will be carried out to prepare for improvements on the Princes Highway and Jervis Bay Road intersection.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place on weekdays from Monday April 29 to Friday May 17 between 8am and 3pm, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to allow up to five minutes of extra travel time and to follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Intermittent lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km per hour will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
The state government has committed $960 million for improvements to the Princes Highway between Jervis Bay Road and Moruya.
"The planned survey work at the Jervis Bay Road intersection will measure ground features such as road and natural surfaces, which will be used for assessing different upgrade options to improve safety and reduce delays for motorists trying to enter the Princes Highway," an RMS spokesperson said.
"The work will also investigate the position of utilities and property boundaries."
The investigations are part of preliminary planning that will help inform ongoing work in this area.
The RMS thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
