Sending three-and-a-half teams, the best and worst of weather was handled. Saturday saw torrential rain and windy conditions with Sunday being beautifully warm and sunny.
Milton 1 consisted of Adam Grills, James Simmons, Murray Fox, Les Myers, Jessica Liddiard and Mick Shea.
Adam and Les were stand-outs in the one position, gaining ground in their attacking areas and scoring wonderful goals.
The twos, Simmo and Jess, were always blocking off potential attacks from the opposition and the threes of Murray and Mick were strong in defence.
It was great to see the return of Mick, well done on a great carnival.
Milton 2 was made up of Kim Porter, Gavin Morton, Heath Cole, Toni Murray, Drew Morton and Maxyne Prothero.
The first section showed grit and determination against their opposition with some wonderful goals scored by Kim Porter.
Heath showed amazing defence with the evergreen Mirra and Gavin working hard in the middle.
The second section, filled with the youngsters of the club, was outstanding.
Toni was throwing brilliant goals, ably supported by Drew who showed wonderful tenacity to elude the opposition, and Maxyne showed great strength in defence.
Milton 3, with Sally Herne, Olivia Erland, Bec Grills, Ashleigh Aldrich, Kylie Stevenson and Amy Lyons, had a great weekend.
Bec was riding a different horse who was new to the game and did a wonderful job showing Lacey the tricks of polocrosse.
Amy was outstanding in defence. Ashleigh in her first carnival, had a wonderful time and declared it the best fun ever.
Thanks to Olivia and Kylie for filling in for the weekend.
Congratulations to Ashleigh for receiving the Female Encouragement Award and Mackenzie the Junior Encouragement Award. Well deserved.
Don't forget the local carnival is happening on May 11-12 at Worrigee Equestrian Common. Two days of exciting polocrosse action, including the new initiative Blue Bandage, which is open to beginner players. For $65 for the weekend you can be taught the skills involved in polocrosse by graded umpires. The aim is to be non contact, at a slow pace and a safe environment. If curious call Sally 0412251722
Our carnival will begin at 8.30 both days with action usually finishing mid-afternoon. A canteen runs all weekend and bar Saturday. Come along to see the athletic stock horse in action.
