"Jugiong is this pretty happening little town," says resident and new local business owner Amy Clark.
Amy noted how the town is a convenient meeting place, appearing to be either on the way to or from Canberra for a lot of people.
Amy, who opened Ivy & Art in April, also says that when she asks people what has brought them into town, many of the responses are that they're in Jugiong to meet up with friends. It gets busy too. "Sunday it's packed, which is fantastic".
Brian Allen and Tricia Wimpenny from Quirky Crow feel the same way about their home locale.
"Jugiong is a progressive village that is fast becoming a popular tourist destination," illustrates Tricia.
"Whilst retaining its quaint charm and country character, Jugiong punches well above its weight, with a boutique cafe, hotel, wine cellar, galleries, gift shops and a motel as well as a range of other accommodation."

QUIRKY CROW
"The story of the creation of the Quirky Crow in Jugiong is unique," Tricia says.
"When Brian purchased a run-down former Ampol Service Station built in the 1950s on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River he had a dream of opening a gallery and studio," Tricia adds.
The idea was to showcase and sell his paintings, sketches and cartoons and the handmade ceramics created by his partner Tricia, while still maintaining the character of the original building. Over two and a half years they undertook major renovations resulting in the unique space which you see today.
"Along the journey we have brought on board other artists, ceramicists, jewellery designers and makers, glass artists, makers of quality homewares, children's and alpaca apparel, an artisan specialising in recycled timber and metal as well as plant growers, all of whom are from the region and share our passion for quality, original, authentic and handmade.
"The Quirky Crow gallery and shop is a vibrant and welcoming space, brimming with quality and original works of art and more."
You can also see where they create their works of art in the studio which is next to the gallery.

IVY & ART
Amy Clark decided to open Ivy & Art to continue offering artistic creations, supplies and studio space after her former employer - at this location - decided to wrap things up and move on.
"I thought I would love to keep the shop going," says Amy of her decision to open her own local business.
Ivy & Art also run artist workshops, and make their studio space available for anyone who wants to run a workshop of their own.
