St Mary's Star of the Sea students joined in with one million students from Australia and New Zealand for the 19th National Simultaneous Storytime. On Wednesday, about 11am, students from kindergarten to year two listened to a reading of Alpacas with Maracas, written by Australian author Matt Cosgrove. The annual even calls on libraries, schools, bookshops, childcare centres and preschools to read a picture simultaneously. In Milton, various kindergarten students shook maracas at interactive points in the story while others listened intently to the reading. National Simultaneous Storytime coincided with the school's book fair, currently set up in the library.
