Daily, police attached to the South Coast Police District, respond to collect CCTV images and footage because of an offence being reported.
This footage is extremely valuable to police in identifying offenders and possible vehicles of interest.
The footage has led to several successful prosecutions.
Police strongly advise all property owners, both business and private, to consider the installation of CCTV to not only protect your property by deterring a potential offender but also to assist police identifying any possible offenders.
These days CCTV equipment can be purchased to suit varying budgets, can be self-installed and of a good quality for viewing.
CCTV security is a valuable investigative and crime prevention tool, which you can never underestimate its value.
In future weeks I will cover again the dos and don'ts of camera positioning and recording.
