On a crisp and clear morning it was noted that most runners arrived with tracksuits and fleece jackets and were reluctant to remove their warm gear until seconds before their allotted start times.
One experienced veteran runner arrived in singlet and short shorts, oblivious to the cool conditions.
The aim of the handicap series is to beat your own previous times.
It is a tough course with some big hills including Clyde Street and Forest Way.
'The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running' was the quote of the week from the RATS.
