CHAMPIONSHIPS - Major Singles Final: Paul Barnes got away to a 9/2 start after six ends against Gary McGuire who with a wry smile set about rectifying that situation.
By the 15th end "rock solid" Gary led 18/12. Barnsie called for refreshments then set about catching Gary winning seven out of the next 10 ends, much to the delight of the two dozen spectators. Gary kept his nerve however and scored five shots on the next four ends to win 31/25 and be our 2019 Club Champion. Congratulations to both players.

Group Seven
Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs Juniors
Last weekend saw the Junior Doggies travel throughout the Merged comp and Group 7 area, with most teams playing away from home. This weekend there is no junior league in any grade, we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe long weekend.
The season draws for the remainder of the competition for mini's, mods and GLT are now available under the files tab on our Facebook page. For the merged comp teams (U13 to U16 boys) it has been confirmed that no draw will be available for the rest of the season due to issues with grounds in the Illawarra affecting match allocations.
The annual CRL Berry camp is on again these school holidays for boys turning 12 to 16 this year. It is an overnight camp at Berry Sport & Rec facilities run by the Greater Southern NRL Development team on July 8-9. For full details see the post on our Facebook page.
New stock of hoodies has arrived and is available for purchase through the canteen, hoodies are available from size 4 and up, grab yours now. We also have a stock of polos, training shorts, girls training tops and club bags available to purchase.
Congratulations and thank you to those parents who are this week completing their level 1 sports trainer qualifications, without sports trainers our games cannot commence each week.
Our weekly meat raffles at the Ex Servos continue each week we ask a team and their families to come along and support and assist us with the raffles, this week it is the U16 GLT teams rostered turn to assist at our raffle. Ticket sales commence at 6pm, with the draw for the 40+ meat trays commencing at 7pm. By supporting our raffles you in turn are supporting our major sponsor Ulladulla Ex Servos, the club has lots to offer on Friday night apart from our raffles, there is the kids club, dining in their new Southside Restaurant, Friday night footy live on the big screen and live entertainment.
The NRLs new Code of Conduct for 2019 has been published and copies of this can be found on our Facebook page and website, this applies to not only players but also spectators so please take the time to read it.
We would like to remind all parents and supporters that our fields are smoke free venues, there is no smoking permitted at anytime within the gated area. We would also like to remind everyone that there is no parking within the fields at anytime unless you have gained permission from the committee, there are currently too many parents driving into the fields especially on training nights, we ask this for the safety of all users of the fields.
Keep up to date on all things Junior Doggies via Facebook and our website.
U8 Blue
Congratulations to our 8s Blue on not only a convincing victory but one played with tremendous sportsmanship and teamwork. Saturday was your best effort in defence this year as well as being organised in the run shares.
There were plenty of highlights during the match be it Jacob or Charlie cutting through the opposition for length of the field runs often leading to trys. Charlie got an amazing intercept run away try when he saw Nowras pass coming and got it at full pace leaving the opposition to only watch Charlie dash away. Again Sam P, Josh and Wally also had some highlights in attack, defence was also strong parts of their games, particularly Sam P who put in an effort that inspired the whole team.
Congratulations also to Hunter, Eli and Sam S who with everyone else dug in when you were down a player at various stages during the match, making it a real team effort by you all. The way you all supported each other be it a try, good tackle, good run, successful conversion or helping each other about the field was the biggest highlight for all spectators.
