The South Coast resident won the guaranteed first prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10293, drawn Monday, June 10.
The winner said he'd have to let the news of his win "digest" before deciding exactly how he'll use his prize. But, he did forecast that he'd be sharing it with his family.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of one random number at Mollymook Pharmacy and Newsagency on Tallwood Avenue.
On Tuesday morning a NSW Lotteries official contacted the man, who had been completely oblivious to his windfall.
"Oh wow!" he laughed.
"Thank you!
"Are you fair dinkum though? One hundred thousand dollars?
"I don't think I believe you. I've never won a thing in my life! Except my wife of course.
"Fair dinkum! I've been playing for I don't know how long, 40 or 50 years and I never thought I'd receive a call like this!"
The winner revealed he would need some time to think of exactly how he would use his prize.
"I'll have to let the news sink in, but I reckon I'll be able to enjoy this throughout our retirement," he said.
"And I've got plenty of kids I can help."
Mollymook Pharmacy and Newsagency owner Nigel Todd said he was thrilled the outlet had sold its first major prize winning entry.
"We've had plenty of smaller wins here over the years but this is the first time one of our customer has won a Lucky Lotteries First Prize so we're very excited," he said.
"We hope this is the beginning of many more.
"Congratulations to the winner. I hope he spends his winnings wisely or unwisely if he wishes."
