OCIUS Technology, founded by former Milton GP Dr Robert Dane, will begin testing the intelligence of two of its 'Bruce Class' of Bluebottles - unmanned surface vessels (USV).
Following the success of 'Bob's' endurance trial in May, OCIUS will continue its testing as part of the technology company's Defence Innovation Hub contract.
Dr Dane said the team playing testing between the two robots was expected to last over nine days.
OCIUS hopes to prove the robots can work autonomously, updating eachother with eachother's world view without direction from engineers.
Machine learning engineers from UNSW were employed by OCIUS to implement similar technology to their robots that play soccer.
