A swim in the salty water is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer's day.
Two sea pools in the region are now open all year for a refreshing winter dip.
The Shoalhaven City Council has approved the operation of the Ulladulla and Huskisson sea pools for a trial period in winter.
From June 1 to November 2 2019 both pools will be open from 6:30am to 5:30pm.
Shoalhaven councillor Mark Kitchener has been a regular swimmer at Ulladulla sea pool for the past eight years.
Cr Kitchener said he was always asked to keep the pool open year round by members of the community.
"People go down for the salt water, it is an alternative to chlorinated water," he said.
Cr Kitchener said the pool was used by everyone from early morning swimmers, families, tourists and people who sought the health benefits of salt water.
"I hope [the community] takes up the offer. [Keeping the sea pool open in winter] comes down to usage," he said.
Ulladulla sea pool will be closed for cleaning on Tuesdays and Huskisson will be closed Thursdays.
