Felicity Urquhart and Brad Butcher's New Harmony tour brings both to Milton Theatre on Friday, July 19.
Urquhart has netted eight Golden Guitar awards during her decorated career. She has been a constant presence on Australian screens and airwaves featuring as a presenter on Sydney Weekender and ABC Radio's Saturday Night Country show since 2010.
The singer-songwriter has just released her seven studio album Frozen Rabbit and will be joined by up-and-coming talent, Butcher.
Butcher, who hails from Mackay in Queensland, was awarded the New Talent of the Year at the Golden Guitar Awards in 2018 and also won the Country Song of the Year in the 2018 Queensland Music Awards.
The independent artist is excited about his fourth studio album Travelling Salesman, due for release in early July. He also shared similar excitement about playing and meeting people for the first time in Milton.
"In country music we don't make fans, we make friends," he said.
"They're going to get a lot of storytelling mixed in with a sense of humour to keep it lighthearted," he said.
Butcher and Urquhart's tour has swept through Victoria, Wollongong and Sydney. Butcher said the pair gel their set together while mixing in some solo work.
"We work together, but also get our own space," he said. "She's one of a kind, you will not meet a nicer, more genuine person."
Butcher said he has looked up to fellow Mackay man and 14-time Golden Guitar winning artist Graeme Connors "since day one". He was still "pretty chuffed" about winning a Golden Guitar award, like his idol.
"That's a life goal," he said. "I'll never forget that moment."
