Both the Outreach Centre and Church will be closed for a period of five weeks while new driveways, landscaping, retaining walls and parking areas are finished.
Uniting Church member Fay Fay Kastelein has urged the public to either donate to other organisations or hold onto goods until the reopening. The monthly cake will also cease and will start again as soon the as building is finished.
"During that period we ask our loyal customers who so generously donate goods to us, to either save them for us, for when we reopen, or take them to Vinnies or the Salvation Army," she said.
Ms Kastelein said the renovations include a new book area the front of Outreach, a lunch room, indoor toilet for volunteers, upgrade of public toilets, two fitting rooms and a private room for counselling.
"We are also looking forward to having a Lifeline financial councillor visiting one day a week, giving free service to all those in need. Bookings will be able to be made at Outreach."
Extensions to the church include an office for the minister, a meeting room, and a commercial kitchen which will be available to rent for the public.
While the church is closed, Sunday services will be held at 9.30am at the Dunn Lewis Centre.
Ms Kastelein said many discussions had been held between draftsman Andrew Bell, retired builder Ces Carey, Church Council and the volunteers during planning.
She was pleased to announce local builder Sean Grabia will be completing the extensions.
"We look forward to this exciting time for the congregation, the volunteers, and the wider community whom we support," she said.
Works are expected to begin on July 15.
