After the final round of the term 2 competition the accumulated points were: Team Meyers 263, Team Metzler 243, Team Smith 210, Team Marsh 198, Team Pycroft, 190 and Team Pleasance 166. The Grand Final was played on Monday, July 1, between the top two teams due to the rain washing out the semis scheduled for June 24.
Hayden Meyers, Paul Woodcock, Darren Wray and Mark Rejc faced Paul Metzler, Isaiah Lewis, Rob Luton and Barry Craig. Paul's team hit the lead in the second set and stayed there finishing with 34 games to 24. Rob won all of his sets proving that his coaching and practice sessions are paying off nicely.
If any teenage boys or men would like to be part of a team for the next comp beginning on July 22 let Kev know ASAP or you could be a reserve to help out when needed, contact Kevin on 0417 359 721. These matches are a doubles challenge with 4 players in each team. Starting at 7pm each set is played to a strict time period so all matches are finished before 9:30. Scores are accumulated each night with the grand final match to be played at the end of each school term followed by a presentation.
School holiday clinics
There's still time for the kids to join in for the mid-year school holiday tennis clinics being held at the Ulladulla courts from Monday 8th till Thursday 11th July from 9am till 1pm for $30 per session. This will provide lots of fun and learning for all ages and abilities. For bookings and enquiries contact coach Kevin Murphy.
Volunteer of the month is Lenny
Len Gumley grew up in the local area and has been a member of Milton Ulladulla District Tennis Association for many years. When he's not fishing or caravanning around Australia Len plays regularly with other members on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Len has always happily lent a hand when asked but since his wife Frances joined the committee last year he has been asked a lot more! From trimming trees, helping with barbecues and setting up for tournaments, taking rubbish to the tip or working at the kitchen sink, nothing is too much trouble.
Also Len's skills as a handyman were put to good use recently when he installed the defibrillator in the clubhouse. We really appreciate Len's great effort, he is always happy to help out with a smile on his face. We love Lenny!
Junior Tournament in Ulladulla next weekend

Players can enter one singles and one doubles event which must be in the same age group and local junior players are also invited to participate.
