NSW Police said the NSW Government announced the single biggest investment in new police positions for the NSW Police Force in 30 years, with 450 additional police to be assigned to local stations and specialist areas over the next 12 months.
South Coast Police District commander, Superintendent Stephen Hegarty, said the announcement of nine new police would significantly increase capability across the south coast.
"The additional numbers will go a long way in preventing, disrupting and responding to emerging crimes," he said.
"By putting these nine additional officers into frontline roles, we will have more police out on the street tackling the issues that are facing our community."
