The May theme of Glass, with all its creative possibilities, also brought out the best in our photographers and saw some clever and striking results.
Dawn Woods' images again proved popular with the judges and her peers alike. Dawn received a host of awards over the two months, including Image of the Month for the Glass theme with Through A Glass Ceiling.
"This quirky and technically adept image took a look at a chook from a whole new angle," communications coordinator Anna Rosenzweig said.
The Red theme was hotly contested, but there was no doubt that Christa Drysdale's whimsical, rainy day piece Blown Away was a worthy Image of the Month. Amongst a vast array of subject matter, Christa's artistry drew much praise in this popular theme.
Trish Curotta and Gina Evans ensured that it was a clean sweep of nature images taking out the Open Competitions this year.
Trish's gentle, high-key bird image of a stilt with her chick was a much-admired winner in May, while Gina's abstract tortoise shell photograph stood out from the crowd in June.
Both Gina and Trish, along with Brigitte Nairn, Julie Fox and Jane Milojevic had strong finishes to the year, receiving awards for four or more images, while the Colebrook family - Denise and sons Daniel and Scott - won several awards in May and June for their wonderful wildlife images.
The award winning Glass and Red theme images, as well as the award winners from the open competitions, can be viewed on the Club's website or Facebook page.
The Club's annual awards evening was held on Monday, July 8, with a range of prizes based on cumulative points throughout the year to be presented along with committee awards.
Milton Ulladulla District Camera Club meets at 6.30pm at the Milton Ulladulla Bowling Club in St Vincent Street on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. Visitors and new members of all skill levels are welcome.
