Milton Public School invited families to join the combined grandparents day where students led tours around classrooms giving their relatives a snapshot of what goes on day-to-day at the school.
Grandparents were invited to an assembly which included student performances and student leaders speaking about their vision for education around Education Week's theme 'Every Student. Every Voice'.
The library was a hive of activity for the book fair and lines quickly formed at the photo booth.
Older style games on the oval followed the student-led tours.
The Open Day followed the popular K-2 Frolic, held on Wednesday night.
The social event, which includes childrens' dance performances, was well attended by parents and grandparents, school principal Mark Thomson said.
"It's a part of our history," he said.
Mr Thomson said students looked forward to the Open Day and was pleased by the turn out.
"It's an opportunity to show the wonderful things that happen here," he said.
