The 36-year-old mother of three has joined the Ulladulla Swimming Club and is keeping up with some of the club's fastest - and much younger - competitors.

A former State representative and BMU Swim Club record holder, Simone said swimming was "just like riding a bike", however she was surprised that she was still able to equal times she was swimming at the age of 16.

Simone decided to dive back into the pool when her children, Hunter, 8, and six-year-old twins Summer and Braxton, expressed an interest in swimming.

"We're really enjoying swimming as a family and it's such an important skill for the kids to learn," Simone said.

"Since we started coming to swimming club, I think I've been more excited to get here than the kids.

"It's a lovely family event and everyone is friendly and helpful."

The Ulladulla Swimming Club is open to children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Club nights are every second Friday evening from 6.15pm through winter and every Friday night over summer at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre. It's a fun, social event, with races in various strokes, pool games and a barbecue cooked by club president Ian Skinner.

Members can travel to compete at swimming carnivals, with recent successes at the NSW Country Championships.
