This year, come and see how the director Georgia Sadler, and the choreographer Jess McKay have worked together to produce the amazing sights and sounds you will see in the 2019 production "There's No Business Like Show Business".
You will witness the fruition of The Entertainers beginnings, with the legendary Patti Yates, Marg Sheedy and Frances Gumley.
Georgia Sadler, 26, remembers attending Entertainers shows as a little girl and helping her mum and Marg Sheedy at front of house at Mollymook Golf Club.
She helped hand out programs and jelly beans, watching as many shows as mum would allow, and would take a 'backstage tour' at the end of the show to have her program signed.
Patti Yates, a founding member, and the long serving director of The Entertainers from 1992 until 2015, recognised Georgia's talent and passion for the performing arts on stage, with Milton Follies.
Georgia began singing with the group at the age of 15. Since then, Georgia has performed many times with The Entertainers and for the last two years has taken the director's baton and directed the entire show.
Georgia does a fantastic job and has really earned the respect and support of the whole crew. She has vision, talent, and a great way of getting the best out of people.
Her shows are full of fun and creativity, and her skills are well utilized in producing a show in which Patti would be proud. Ebony Millard, also a long standing singer with the MUE, very bravely and successfully took up the director's baton after Patti's passing, and directed two fantastic shows in 2016 and 2017, with Georgia on her show committee.
Georgia also has a full time job as a teacher at Ulladulla Public School.
Jess McKay, 32, has been dancing since she was two-years-old, beginning classes with the Frances Gumley School of Dance. Frances Gumley was a long standing performer, choreographer and committee member for MUE.
At the age of 17 she moved to Sydney to attend her senior high school years at the Newtown High School of Performing Arts.
She has performed with several dance companies in Australia and ended up working in California for 'American Idol'. On returning to Australia, Jess has been busy.
She became a high school dance/PE teacher, and married Dean.
They now have three children Hallie, 5, Colton, 3, and Boden, five months. For the last three years, Jess has taken the choreographer's baton from her first dance teacher Frances Gumley. There have also been several other choreographers prior to Jess to whom the baton had also been passed.
For the last two years, she has also danced with the Troupe, but with Boden only five months old, Jess decided this year to just choreograph, though she still gets up and dances with the girls at rehearsals.
Jess loves the challenge to make the choreography as interesting and complex as she can, whilst also having it suit the song, the singer, the space, as well as the dancers. She also enjoys the creative outlet it gives her and the opportunity to give back to the community.
She is very grateful to her parents who help with babysitting.
Come and see the amazing display of talent, passion, creativity and community spirit at the Civic Centre this September and be part of a community project that keeps giving - to charities, to the younger generation and to appreciative audiences year after year.
